Brother of Blessed Miriam Teresa Demjanovich; Editor of her religious work, "Greater Perfection". Born in Bayonne, NJ, to East Slovakian immigrants Alexander and Johanna (nee Suchy) Demjanovich, Msgr. Charles C. Demjanovich was ordained a Roman Catholic priest of the Archdiocese of Newark in 1923. He served as pastor of St. Mary’s Church in Rutherford, NJ, for more than two decades, and also taught at Immaculate Conception Seminary in Darlington, NJ. Three years older than his saintly sister Miriam, he was a frequent playmate of their childhood years, during which the siblings enjoyed word games and baseball. Known as “the American Little Flower”, Miriam joined the Sisters of Charity in 1925, and during her brief life as a nun, authored the 26 religious pieces which comprise "Greater Perfection". Edited by Mons. Demjanovich after her death in 1927, it was among the favorite inspirational readings of Mother Teresa of Calcutta.
