Zora was born to Oscar Bell Bud (1857-1897) and Amilda Florence (Middleton) (1865-1898) in Briar, Wise, Texas.

Her siblings were Oscar Womack Morehead (1888-1946), Gladden Euclid Morehead(1891-1973) and Dora E. Morehead (1896-1964). She also had a sister, noted as Jessie Mae Gladsoe born about 1888. Perhaps from an earlier marriage of Zora's mother?

By the 1900 federal census, both of Zora's parents were deceased and she and all 4 of her siblings lived with their maternal grandparents, Joel Harvey and Mary Elizabeth Middleton in Wise County, Texas. Their widowed great uncle William J. Middleton also lived in the home.

According to the 1910 federal census, Zora and her brother, Gladden and sister, Dora lived with Jessie and her husband, Santo P. Robertson in Wall, Stephens, Oklahoma. Jessie also had 2 daughters, Iva N. and Mildred L. and 1 son, Redford R. Gladden helped Santo work the farm.

Zora married James Wesley Baugh on March 30, 1912 in Marlow, Stephens, Oklahoma.

According to James' June 5, 1917 WWI Draft Registration card, they were living in Garvin County, Oklahoma and had 2 children.

Per the 1930 federal census, James and Zora lived in Chaves County, New Mexico and had 7 children; Leo A. (16), Charlotte E. (14), Ima J. (12) James W. Jr. (10), Glendon E. (6) Joel R. (2) and Rachel L. (4 mos.). He worked a rented farm. The first 2 children were born in Texas, the 3rd and 4th in Oklahoma and the last 3 in New Mexico.
