She was born at Flat Top, W.Va., on March 16th, 1921, to Joseph and Dolly Lilly.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Phillip S. Croy Sr.; and an infant son, John Allen.
She is survived by three sons, Gene S. Croy (Mary), of North Ridgeville, Ohio, David W. Croy, of Laguna Niguel, Calif., and Phillip S. Croy Jr. (Patricia), of Punta Gorda, Fla. Those left to cherish her memory are nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, plus numerous relatives and friends. Also preceeding her in death were five brothers and one sister.
She moved to Florida in 2002 from Beaver, W.Va., and was a member of Berean Baptist Church of Port Charlotte, Fla.
Friends may pay respect on Saturday, March 5th, 2011, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home at Shady Spring, W.Va. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. with Preacher Don Pongallo officiating with burial following at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity, W.Va.
Memorial gifts may be donated in honor of Marie Croy to: Hope Children's Home, 11415 Hope Int'l Drive, Tampa, FL 33625.
