Funeral service for Mr. Raymond Boyd Jarrell, 83, of Valley, will be Friday, March 4, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Rev. James Caulfield will officiate. Burial will follow in the Alexander City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 3, 2011 from 5-7 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home.

Mr. Jarrell passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at George Lanier Hospital. He was born on February 10, 1928 in Chambers County, AL to Henry Lewis Jarrell and Martha Boyd Abernathy Jarrell. He was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church of Chambers County since he was 11 years old. Mr. Jarrell was a driller by trade and had worked for Tom Brown Inc. and Oscar Boring. He liked to fish and watch game shows. Mr Jarrell was also an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan.

He is survived by his daughter, Martha Ann Jarrell of Opelika; son, Raymond Boyd Jarrell, Jr. of Valley; sister, Margie Ann Trimble of Waverly; brother, Joe David Jarrell (Helen) of LaFayette; nieces; nephew.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Sader Jarrell; son PFC Kennith Lewis Jarrell; and parents.
