North Ogden – Our sweet endearing Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother, Mildred Clark McClellan peacefully passed away in her home in North Ogden on February 28, 2011. She was 90 years old.

She was born July 6, 1920 in Morgan Utah, a daughter of Ella Jean Boyce and Wallace R. Clark. She married Junius W. McClellan, formally of Logan Utah, on May 27, 1942, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

She grew up in Morgan Utah and received a teaching degree from Utah State University.

After settling in Michigan for 30 years, while her husband pursued a career in Industrial Medicine and they raised their family of eight children, she moved to Utah in 1982 to be near family following the death of her eternal companion.

Mildred served in many capacities in the LDS church and magnified each calling with full devotion. Her church service included Ward and Stake Relief Society President, Temple Ordinance Worker in the Ogden Temple, and a full time mission to Hawaii.

Mother touched the lives and hearts of many with quiet compassion and love. Besides nurturing and helping people, Mother loved gardening and nurturing little plants into bounteous harvests. She loved music and loved to sing, and would blend her beautiful soprano voice in whatever group she could, including Ward Choirs and the Michigan Mormon Concert Choir.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Junius W. McClellan, by her parents, and seven brothers and sisters.

She is survived by eight children; LuAnne (Dallan) Rasmussen, Donald (Linda) McClellan, Janeane (Ken) Sevy, Arlene (James) Marker, Bruce McClellan, Laura (Russell) Harris, Jan (Janet) McClellan, and Brian (Suzanne) McClellan. She has 34 grandchildren, and 41 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the North Ogden Stake Center, 626 East 2600 North , North Ogden. Friends may visit family and pay their respects Friday evening from 6 to 8 PM at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd, Ogden Utah 84404, and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the church. The family would like to thank the office and staff of Dr. John K. Reis, and the staff at Alpine Home Care & Hospice for their warm and compassionate service. Their care and thoughtfulness is greatly appreciated during this tender and sensitive time.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the LDS Church Perpetual Education Fund.
