Leland R Jones was the son of George F Jones 1866 and Bertha M Klock.

He married Myrtle M Palmer, the daughter of Clayton Palmer and Katie.

He was a Fireman for the City of Randolph, New York.

The couple had two children.

Services for Leland R. Jones, Held on Sunday

Leland R. Jones, 70, of 82 Main St., Randolph, died Thursday morning, August 13, 1970 at his home. Mr. Jones had been employed for 20 years by the New York State Fish hatchery and had retired in 1963.

Born January 11, 1900 in the town of Napoli, he was the son of George and Bertha Klock Jones, and have lived most of his life in Randolph.

He served with the US Army during World War II. He Was a Member of the Randolph Fire Company and was assistant Boy Scout leader of Troop 3 from 1965 two 1968. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Palmer Jones, whom he married July 27, 1946; a daughter, Marjorie A. Jones, and a son, Harvey Jones, both of Randolph; two brothers, Floyd Jones of Gowanda and Howard Jones of Cattaraugus.

The Randolph Fire Company conducted a memorial service at the Hoitink Funeral Home, 165 Main St., Randolph, Friday at 8 PM. Funeral services were held Sunday at 2:30 PM at the funeral home, the Rev. George A. Pabody, pastor of the first Baptist Church, officiating.

Randolph American Legion Post 181 conducted military services at the graveside. Bearers were Charles Riddell, Charles Hughes, Oscar See, Marion Horton, Lester Swan and Glen Northcraft. Burial was in Maple leafs cemetery.
