All of his children were from Brookston, IN. He served in the Civil War. His obituary is in the Shelbyville newspaper " The Shelby Record" Aug. 2,1912 issue. His death was due to a complication of troubles according to the obituary. Also have his name as Thomas Hendricks Tilghman Stewart, Winstandley family Bible lists his name as Tilghman H. Stewart & lists his birthdate as Feb. 1st. Some other descendants list his birthdate as Feb. 2nd. His farm was about 4 miles SW of Brookston, White Co., IN. He purchased several acres in 1867 near Brookston which he later sold or transferred to various family members.
