Josephine M. (Capone) Belton, age 90, of Plymouth, unexpectedly entered into eternal life surrounded by her loving family on March 1, 2011. She was the beloved wife, of 59 years of the late Thomas J. Belton Jr. Born in Somerville, MA in 1920, she was the daughter of the late Albert J and Mary (Arcanti) Capone. In 1924 her mother, Mary, passed away and her father married Rose Arcanti, sister to Mary, who raised her and her beloved brother, the late Albert J. Capone. She was the cherished mother of Paula Ryan and her husband Philip of Plymouth, Thomas J. Belton III and his wife Diane of Hilton Head, SC, Kevin Belton of Anaheim, CA, Joseph W. Belton and his wife Linda of Marshfield Hills, MA and John F. Belton of Plymouth. Josephine was the grandmother of Maria D. Luce of Bourne, Thomas J Belton IV of Austin, TX, and Katie M. Belton of Hilton Head, SC. She was the great grandma-ma of Jeffrey Thomas (J.T.) Luce of Bourne. Josephine worked for many years in the corporate headquarters of Stop and Shop. In 1947 she married her brothers best friend and shipmate (USS Stack), Thomas J. Belton Jr. They moved to Hingham in 1947 where they raised five children. Josephine was an active member of St. Pauls Church in Hingham. She worked for many years as a Teachers Aide to the Administrators at Hingham High School. In 1973 and again in 1979, her husband, Thomas suffered a devastating stroke. Josephine devoted her life to caring for her husband until his death in 2006. She was a daily Communicant and Eucharistic Minister at the Blessed Kateri Church in Plymouth. Josephine was filled with the grace of God and her goodness and love touched everyone who met her. Funeral from the Cartmell Funeral Home, 150 Court St., Plymouth on Monday, March 7, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in Blessed Kateri Church in Plymouth at 11:00 a,m. Visiting hours on Sunday from 4-7:00 p.m. only. Burial will take place at the MA National Cemetery in Bourne. Donations in Josephines memory may be made to the Blessed Kateri Building Fund, 126 South Meadow Rd., Plymouth MA 02360, or to the American Legion Post 40 Special Building Fund, 199 Federal Furnace Rd., Plymouth MA 02360.
