Wife of Ralph Burley Cotton

PERRY-Services for Ruth Geraldine Cotton, 98, of Perry will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at Bienhoff Funeral Home with Reverend Larry Baitinger and Pastor Jason Yancey officiating. Burial will be in Lick Creek Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Cotton passed away at 3 p.m. December 19, 2009 at Westview Nursing Home in Center.
She was born September 28, 1911 in Licking, the daughter of James and Elizabeth Owens Shoemate.
She was married to Ralph Burley Cotton on March 11, 1940 in Licking and he preceded her in death June 10, 1992.
Survivors include one son and his wife, Robert and Pat Cotton of Perry; one daughter, Helen Kennon of Perry; five grandchildren, Najmeh Feger of Mexico, David Kennon and Sean Cotton, both of Columbia, Kristen Allred of Jacksonville, and Scott Cotton of Perry; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by seven brothers, three infants, and Winfred, Omer, Albert, and Webb Shoemate; and two sisters; Pearl O'Haver, and Virginia Carter.
Mrs. Cotton moved to this area in 1941. She was a member of the United Pentecostal Church in Mexico and for the last three years had been attending the Living Water Ministries in Perry. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, cooking, canning, listening to music, and spending time with her family.

Pallbearers will be David Kennon, Sean Cotton, Scott Cotton, Solomon Feger, Jimmy Shoemate, and Steve Shoemate.
