~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Allen Henry Smith was born on March 12, 1929, at Halstead, Kansas, to August and Anna Smith. He went to his eternal reward on April 22, 2008, reaching the age of seventy-nine years.
As a young boy, together with his parents he lived in various places in central Kansas, later moving to the Dalhart area in Texas. From there he, together with his parents, went to DeRidder, Louisiana. Not long after that, his father took sick and passed away on December 28, 1939. This left him very lonely trying to carry on with his mother, being the youngest of ten children.
In 1944, together with his mother, he moved to Montezuma, Kansas, finding employment wherever he could.
On January 25, 1954, he was baptized by Min. Ervin Harms at the age of twenty-four years. He embraced his faith to the end. On February 13, 1955, he was united in marriage to Juanita Koehn, making their home at Winton, California. To this union two daughters were born, Phyllis Kay and Vicki Ann. He encountered many hardships and struggles, yet set his goal on things eternal. He was a good worker, thus providing well for his small family. We hope to meet him in a better land where no more pain or tears will come.
His parents and six brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
He has left behind his loving wife, Juanita, and his two daughters: Kay and husband, Albert Kosirog, and Vicki and husband, Rodney Schmidt. He also left behind four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on April 26, 2008, at the Winton, Congregation, Winton, California. Officiating ministers were Gary Koehn, David Steiner, and John Jantz. The burial was in the Winton District Cemetery, Winton, California.
