Aged Resident Of New Holstein Laid To Rest Thursday
New Holstein – Funeral services for John Claudius Luehr, aged 77, who died March 30, at his home in Milwaukee, were held here at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aril 2, at St. John's Reformed church, the Rev. A. G. Schmid, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial was in the New Holstein City cemetery.
Deceased was born November 22, 1853, in Holstein, Germany, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Luehr. When he was two years of age, his parents came to America, settling in New Holstein. On October 1, 18__ he was married to Miss Ma____Koeohnke of New Holstein. The couple lived here for one and one half years and then moved to Davenport, Iowa, where they resided until 1896, in which year they moved to Milwaukee. His wife preceded him in death in 1921. He is survived by two daughters, Miss Lydia Luehr of Milwaukee and Mrs. Viola Slagg of Eau Claire, Wis., and one brother, Dr. Edward Luehr of Chicago.
