Funeral services for Ms. Mildred Nell Griffin, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Church of Pentecost, Ball, with Reverend Lonnie Weidner officiating. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Ball, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville.

Ms. Griffin, age 73, of Pineville, entered eternal rest on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital, Alexandria.

She was a native of Tioga. She was a member of Church of Pentecost, Ball. During her life she worked as a hospital unit clerk, EMT, correctional security officer, therapeutic foster parent of juveniles and as a private caregiver to the elderly. She loved and wrote poetry; the collection of which she left to her children.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jeff and Bernice Bryan; one brother, Jefferson Donald Bryan; two sisters, Audie Mae Brazzell and Inez Dietzel.

She is survived by two sons, Samuel "Rocky" Bass of Littleton, Colorado and Nevin K. Bass (Tammy) of Castle Rock, Colorado; two daughters, Ramona N. Weber (David) of Mangum, Oklahoma and Michelle "Chelly" Tuneberg (Barry) of Alexandria; seven grandchildren, Jonathan, Rebekah, Benjamin, Cheyenne, Lydia, Paul Bennon and Kristin; one great grandchild, Leilan.
