In the 1870 – 1874 City Directory of Mobile, AL he is listed as an Engineer on the Victoria and living on Conti. St. in Mobile, AL
In the 1876 City Directory for Mobile, Margaret L. JACKSON is listed as the widow of Stephen P. JACKSON and shown living at their home located at 180 Conti in Mobile, AL. It is assumed that Stephen P. Jackson died ca. 1874. (A newspaper clipping from The Clark Co. Democrat (Grove Hill, AL) reported the death of Stephen P. JACKSON on board the Steamer Victoria on 15 January 1874 near Baldon Springs, AL)
