Maxine Cyrus
(November 8, 1934 - January 22, 2011)

Maxine Joyce Cyrus, daughter of Malcolm and Roma Waters Crall, was born, November 8, 1934 in Montreal, Missouri. She departed this life, Saturday, January 22, 2011, in Windsor Estates Care Center, Camdenton, Missouri at the age of seventy-six years, two months and fourteen days.

On June 16, 1954 in Camdenton, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Richard Glen Cyrus and to this union four children were born. Together they shared thirty-three years of marriage before his passing on July 16, 1987.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Joe Mack Crall.

Survivors include her children, Kay Coleman and husband Larry of Camdenton, Missouri, Mac "Supie" Cyrus and wife Mary of Eldon, Missouri, Mike Cyrus and wife Charlotte of Wentzville, Missouri and Annie Oshel and husband Bart of Camdenton, Missouri; a granddaughter, Samantha Kay Oshel; a grandson, Austin Oshel both of Camdenton, Missouri; two sisters, Peggy Kosarko of Willis, Texas and Barbara Young of Camdenton, Missouri and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Maxine spent her early years in Montreal and attended school there. The family later moved to Camdenton where she graduated from Camdenton High School. She continued to live in Camdenton for the rest of her life. She worked as a seamstress for Clean Cleaners in Camdenton and later for Modern Cleaners in Lebanon.

Maxine made a profession of faith and was of the Baptist faith.

In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter and playing with her Nintendo DSI and puzzle books. She spent many hours watching the birds off the deck of her back porch and playing with her three special dogs. She had a knack for growing African Violets. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt and a caring neighbor and friend. She was special to many people and will be deeply missed.

A visitation will be from 1-3 p.m., Wednesday, January 26, 2011 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton. A private family service will be held with burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Camdenton.

Memorial donations may be made to Windsor Estates or Blue Moon Sanctuary and left at the funeral home.
