AVA, Virginia Lee Anderson, 80, of Murphysboro, passed away at 10:45 A.M. Saturday, May 2, 2009, at Oak Grove Rehab and Care Center in Carbondale, IL.

She was born October 9, 1928 in East St. Louis, Illinois the daughter of Raymond J. Lusk and Rocettie (Qualls) Lusk.

She married Howard R. Anderson on March 2, 1946 in Washington Park, Illinois.
Mrs. Anderson was a homemaker in her own home and a member of St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Ava, IL.

She is survived by her children: Melvin and Diane Anderson of Ava, IL, Howard R. and Barbara Anderson II of Ava, IL, Sandy McCann of Ava, IL; eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, three step grandchildren and son-in-law Tracy McCann of North Carolina.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Raymond Jr. and Paul.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 8, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Ava. Father. Leo Hayes will be officiating. Burial will be at Ava Evergreen Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava on Friday from 10am to 12:45 pm

Memorials may be made to the family.
