STRICKLAND EASON BLACKSHEAR--A funeral service for Mrs.
Mary Strickland Eason, 90, will be conducted at 2 p.m.
Thursday at the Blackshear Church of God. The Rev.
Franklin Peacock and the Rev. Clinton Kearney will
officiate. The body will be placed in the church at 1
p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in the Patterson Cemetery.
Visitation will take place Wednesday evening from 6 until
9 o'clock at Pearson-Treadwell Funeral Home. She died
early Monday morning (Oct. 15, 2001) at the Pierce County
Nursing Home. She was born in Pierce County and resided
here most of her life. She had been a domestic worker,
and in her younger days she had worked on farms, picking
cotton and tobacco. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist
Church. Her husband, Jasper "Jep" Eason, died in 1968.
Her parents were William Bud and Olive Rowell Strickland.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Maude and
Thomas Moseley, and a son and daughter-in-law, Joe and
Beverly Eason, all of Blackshear, and eight
grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several
other relatives.

Eason, 90, was conducted Thursday afternoon at the
Blackshear Church of God with the Rev. Franklin Peacock
and the Rev. Clinton Kearney officiating. Burial was in
the Patterson Cemetery. The pallbearers were Ken
Strickland, Ron Strickland, Don Humphries, Jason Taylor,
Ashley Corbitt and James Taylor. Pierce County Nursing
Home employees were honorary pallbearers. Arrangements
were with Pearson-Treadwell Funeral Home
