Donald R. Borck, 86, Green Bay, passed away on October 8, 2008 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in Union Grove, Wisconsin. Donald was born on April 28, 1922 in Milwaukee, WI to the late Albert and Hedvick (Schmaltz) Borck. He was a graduate of Boys Technical High School in Milwaukee. After graduation he worked for Allis-Chalmers Manufacturing in West Allis as a machine repairman. He served his country during WWII as a member of the US Navy on the USS Yorktown. On December 19, 1945 he married the former Arleen Wojcik and they shared over 55 happy years together. Arleen preceded him in death on July 12, 2001. He was a longtime employee of Hoida Lumber in Green Bay, working as Head Estimator and in Sales. After retirement from Hoida he worked part-time with Kwaterski Construction. Donald was a past Commander in the American Legion and a member of the Green Bay Navy Club, Ship # 18. Don enjoyed spending time "up north" at White Potato Lake and time on his pontoon boat. Don and Arleen also enjoyed wintering in Florida. He will be sadly missed by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Howard (Alice) Wojcik, Eugene (Helen) Wojcik both of Pulaski and Jim Wojcik, Madison, many nieces and nephews: Arwin (Diane) Borck, Lois Bozilov, Lanny (Ann) Luebke, Joyce Newman, Susan (Bruce) Smith, Paul (Susan) Warner, Diane (Peter) Rand, David (Charlene) Wojcik, Douglas (Marlene) Wojcik, Ken Wojcik, Thomas (Paula) Wojcik, Greg (Lucy) Wojcik, Charmaine Baranczyk, Audrey (Bill) Peters, Mark Wojcik, Susie (sp. Friend Joel) Kane, Carol (Mike) Bess, Mary (Scott) Vanden Busch, Barbara (Randy) Kuske, Ronald (Patty) Wojcik, Connie Wojcik, Jenifer (Wesley) Marks. Besides his parents and his wife Arleen he was preceded in death by 4 sisters Margaret (Arthur) Luebke, Gertrude Borck, Dorothy (Hollis) Warner, Esther (Walter) Newman; 1 brother Albert (Viola) Borck and nephew Lloyd Wojcik. Friends may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 East Mason Street, on Sunday from 5-8 pm. Parish Prayer Service at 7 pm at the funeral home. Visitation will continue at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 312 Victoria Street, on Monday from 10-11 am. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at the church with the Rev. David Pleier officiating. Entombment at Nicolet Memorial Gardens. The family extends a thank you to the nurses and staff of Wisconsin Veterans Home in Union Grove.
