Bruce Morton Garver, the manager of this Memorial, is the grandson of John Frederick "Fred" Garver (1881-1953) who is a second cousin to Leah Esther (Garver) Metcalf (1889–1979) who in 1919 wed Loyd Leon Metcalf (1891–1968) whose "bio" and that of his second wife Leah Esther (Garver) Metcalf have been written by Leah's second cousin-twice-removed Bruce Morton Garver.

Loyd Leon Metcalf (1891–1968) was born in Sumner County, Kansas, on August 21, 1891, to Ohio-born parents Manly R. Metcalf (1846-1912) and Hila Anna "Hyla"(Hotchkiss) Metcalf (1852-1929). Of their two children, Lloyd Leon Metcalf was the youngest. His sister, Grace B. (Metcalf) Rothrock (1877–1924) in 1902 wed Harry Mann Rothrock (1877–1962) with whom she raised a son, Kenneth Marvin Rothrock (1904–1998) who served as a Major in the U. S. Army during World War II.

During the year 1919, Loyd Leon Metcalf wed Leah Esther Garver (1889–1979), the youngest of the three daughters of Colonel Clair James Garver (1851-1928) and Drusilla Theresa (Jones) Garver (1851-1932) who had wed in 1879.
