DROWNED SUNDAY
JAMES FORSYTHE GETS CRAMP AND L0SES LIFE IN SIGHT OF COMRADE
James Forsythe Jr., 18-year-old son of Mrs. James Forsythe who resides about a mile southwest of Kirkville, was drowned last evening while swimming in Moore's pond, two miles west of Kirkville. His younger brother and his uncle, Lew Myers, were swimming with him and endeavored to reach him when he called for help, but were not quick enough. It is thought that he was seized with a cramp, as he was a good swimmer. The body was recovered within an hour.
No arrangements for the funeral have been made as yet. James Forsythe was well known in Ottumwa, having resided at 1117 East Main street until about five years ago, when he moved to Kirkville.
