Ruth F. Adams, 93, of 620 Laurel Street, Lee, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 25, 2011 at Laurel Lake Center in Lee.

She was born in Pittsfield on October 15, 1918, daughter of Lester and Florence Maxfield Farnham. She was educated in the Lee schools and was a graduate of Lee High School.

During World War II, she worked as a "Rosie the Riveter" at the Boston Navy Yard in Boston. She returned to Lee after the war and in 1951 she and her late husband, Vinton R. Adams, helped establish the Berkshire Hills Baptist Church. She served the Lord faithfully with her musical talents.

Her husband, Vinton, whom she married on January 18, 1936, died September 9, 1998.

She is survived by her daughter, Jean E. Killackey of Lee, five grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and twelve great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a grandson, John A. Killackey, and her sister, Evelyn McClelland.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. at KELLY FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Lloyd D. "Doug" Mann of the Berkshire Hills Baptist Church officiating.
Burial will be at a later date at Fairmount Cemetery in Lee.
Visiting hours at Kelly Funeral Home will be held on Tuesday from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
