Shirley Ann Perry, 66, died Sunday, February 27, 2011, in her residence.
She was a native of Cameron Parish and had been a resident of Vinton for 32 years, coming from Sulphur. Shirley was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and she enjoyed working in her flower garden.
Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Richard H. Perry of Vinton; two step-children, Richmond Perry and wife, Debbie of Dell City, Oklahoma and Tanya Perry Ridgeway and husband, Harold of Greencastle, Indiana; three siblings, Olivia Abshire of Sulphur, Larry Abshire and wife, Ann of Grand Chenier, and Gary Abshire of California; and a step-granddaughter, Victoria Ridgeway. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lenis and Beulah Broussard Abshire; and two brothers, James and Leonard Abshire.
Her funeral was held at 10 a.m. Monday, February 28, in St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. Susil Fernando officiated. Burial was in Big Woods Cemetery in Edgerly under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton.
