Ernie Bell Johnson, 88, of Booneville, died Friday, June 9, 2006, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born June 4, 1918, in the New Hope community to the late Wallace and Mary Ova Smith. She was a homemaker and had worked at Fred's Dollar Store and was a member of New Hope Primitive Baptist Church. She enjoyed her family and friends.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Herman Clark and Elder Ben Burcham officiating. Burial will be in the New Hope Cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Hellen Johnson Norris of Booneville; a daughter-in-law, Margie Johnson of Booneville; two grandsons, Richard E. Norris and wife, Melissa, and Delane Johnson; three great-grandsons, Matthew and Blake Norris and Tyler Gober; one sister, Nora Gault of Booneville; one brother, J.T. Smith of Booneville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl T. Johnson; her son, Wallace Johnson; one sister, Emma Louis Smith; two brothers, Arvil and Buster Smith.
Pallbearers will be Bill Smith, Hugh Green, Tony Lowrey and Timothy White.
