Leon Deneka
Leon F. Deneka, 54, of Nampa, died Tuesday, June 5, 1990, at the Nampa hospital. Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. today at Flahiff Funeral Chapel of Nampa. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, June 7, at Flahiff Funeral Chapel of Nampa. The Rev. Mauricio Medina, pastor of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Nampa, will officiate. Burial will follow at Kohlerlawn Cemetery with Elks Rites by the officers of Nampa Lodge No. 1389. BPOE.
Mr. Deneka was born Sept. 1935, at Mason, Mich., a Son of Leon F. and Maryanne Kiminski Deneka. He grew up and attended school at Jackson, Mich., graduating in 1952. He then served in the Air Force during the Korean conflict. He married Dorothy Ann Miller on Dec. 16, 1955 at Payette, Idaho. Following his discharge from the service they made their home in Nampa and he worked for the J.R. Simplot Food Processing Plant at Caldwell as a Research and Development supervisor.
He retired due to heath 10 years ago, but still enjoyed fishing, bowling, camping and probing for worms for bait.
He was a member of the Catholic Church, of Nampa Lodge No. 1389, BPOE, and of Nampa Valley Grange, No. 131.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of Nampa; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Kelli Ann and Dan Eichelberger of Kuna, Julie Kay and Lyle Stahnke of Boise, and Maryanne Deneka of Nampa; two brothers, Richard L. Deneka of Grass Lake, Mich., and Stan J. Deneka of Jackson, Mich.; a sister, Carolina Pryor of Lansing, Mich.; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother. Memorials may be made to the Elks Rehabilitation Hospital, 204 Fort Place, Boise 83702; or flowers may be sent.
Friends may call today from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Thursday from 9 a.m. until service time at Flahiff Funeral Chapel of Nampa.
