T.C. 'Slim' Daniels
Services for T.C. "Slim" Daniels, 74, of Nampa, who died Wednesday at home, will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Alsip Chapel by the Revs. Frank M. Marler, Nampa First Christian Church, and M.S. Frantz, Church of the Brethren. Interment will be in Kohlerlawn Cemetery.
He was born July 16, 1902, in Dean, Iowa, where he was reared and attended school. In July 1916 he moved to Buhl and in March 1922, to Nampa.
He married Helen Sue Barr Sept. 9, 1939, in Nampa, where he owned and operated Slim's Barber Shop from 1922 until 1974 except for two years when he barbared and managed G.I. and officers' shops at Gowen Field. In 1974, he sold the business and retired. After his retirement, he worked part time at Alsip's Chapel.
He was a member of the Nampa First Christian Church; past exalted ruler of BPOE No. 1389, Nampa charter president of the Treasure Valley Lions Club; chairman, Idaho State Barbering Board; inspector of beauty shops and barber shops of Idaho; Barber of the Year Award No. 2; district commissioner of the Boy Scouts; member, Finance Board of Amateur Softball Association of America; president, Idaho State Softball Association, and state commissioner, Softball Association of America.
Surviving are his wife, Nampa; a son, David C., Seattle; a daughter, Mrs. Susan Oliver, Boise; two brothers, Edgar A., Mesa, Ariz., and V. Darrel, San Diego, Calif.; a half brother, Clarence, Moulton, Iowa; a stepbrother, Mert Mann, Reddington, Calif.; a stepsister, Bernice Young, Sumner, Wash., and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Edward.
