Vernon H. King, Wall businessman,90, owner and operator of the former King's Market, Route 71, West Belmar, from 1912 until 1965, died Wednesday at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. Mr. King was a member of the Board of Directors of the Belmar/Wall National Bank from 1933 until 1973, and has been a consultant for the First National Bank since 1973. In 1984, he was named "Man of the Year" by the Wall Community Relations Committee. Mr. King was a member of the Exempt Fireman of West Belmar Fire Company for 70 years making him the oldest living member. He was 70-year member of Ocean Masonic Lodge 89, here. Born in Asbury Park, he had lived here for 85 years. His wife, the former May Smith, died in 1962, and his son, Vernon H., died during World War Two. Surviving are a daughter, Miriam Jutras, with whom he lived, five grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. O'Brien Funeral Home, Wall Township, is in charge of arrangements.
