Funeral services for Melba Sizemore Holmes, 75, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007 at Moss Service Funeral Home Chapel with interment at Cullman City Cemetery. Dr. Edwin Hayes will officiate. Moss Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Holmes passed away on Jan. 13, 2007 at Woodland Medical Center. She was born on Oct. 9, 1931.
She was preceded in death by her father, George Dewey; her mother, Bernice Julian Sizemore; a husband, Douglas Miller Holmes; a son, Wade Holmes; and a daughter, Cecilia Sheppard.
Survivors include a daughter, Rhonda (Don) Cornell; a son, Sherwin (Cynthia) Holmes; a son-in-law, Fred (Karen) Sheppard; daughter-in-law Carrlon Holmes; sister, Delores Cornelius; eight grandchildren, Elizabeth Ashley Flora, Jordan Christopher Cornell, Lauren Michelle Cornell, Adam Burke Holmes, Miles Johnson Holmes, Courtney Daniel Holmes, Camden Daniel Holmes, Caleb David Holmes; three great-grandchildren, Cameron Cecilia Flora, Isabella Dominica Flora and Michael Christian Flora.
Pallbearers will be Jordan Cornell, Miles Holmes, Caleb Holmes, Camden Holmes, Fred Sheppard and Frank Flora. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m Monday, Jan. 15, 2007 at Moss Service Funeral Home .
