Loy Ivan Francis, 7 year old son of Roy C. and Mary Francis (Rose) Francis, died Saturday morning at Burge Hospital in Springfield. He was a patient since Wednesday, suffering from a throat infection and pneumonia.
He was afflicted with cerebral palsy since his birth in West Plains Feb. 25, 1952.
Loy had attended cerebral palsy school in West Plains, Kansas City, and Springfield. He had completed a full year of schooling.
Surviving are his parents of Springfield, Mo.; one brother Dan Roy Francis, 2 years old; and one sister Dena Ren Francis, 2 months old; paternal grandparents, Franklin and Berta (Huddleston) Francis, of rural West Plains, Mo.; maternal grandparents, Fred and Anna (Francis) Rose of Rover Route.
Funeral services were held this afternoon in Elk Creek Church; with Rev. J.R. Earls officiating. Burial was in Francis Cemetery under the direction of Robertson Funeral Home.
