The Reverend Dr. Luke Dean was ordained 1846, in Brockville, Indiana. Married Rachel Cook, 18 Jan 1828,
Married Caroline Salisbury, 28 Jun 1850, LaPorte co. Indiana. Married Ann Wetherel, 29 Jul 1867. 1870 Census has him listed as a physician. His obit stated he was a practicing physician and believed to have started several churches in Indiana & Wisconsin. Notably at Viroqua, Tarville, Bad Axe, Springfield & Sylvan, Wisconsin. His funeral was held at United Brethen Church, Sylvan.

He had four children:(by Rachel) dau. Dean. son Dean,(1830) Martha M. Dean (1939-1865) & Alma Eveline Dean., (1846-1936)

His daughter Martha M. married Lafayette Moon,(1860); killed in action of the Civil War, Siege of Atlanta, 21 Jul 1864;(#3953861) She, herself died in a tornado with her Stepmother Caroline, 28 Jun 1865 (see "The Great Tornado"; The History of Vernon Co. Wisconsin; 28 Jun 1865; chapter 24, pg 292-293). They both were buried in Pioneer Cemetery, Viroqua, Vernon co. Wisconsin [research by Mary Van Dyke] see (#45121205 & #45121205)
