His funeral was held at United Brethen Church, Sylvan.

His daughter Martha M. married Lafayette Moon,(1860); killed in action of the Civil War, Siege of Atlanta, 21 Jul 1864;(#3953861) She, herself died in a tornado with her Stepmother Caroline, 28 Jun 1865 (see "The Great Tornado"; The History of Vernon Co.
