On February 05,1923 Oskar was apparently depressed over financial losses and the death of his daughter, Maude. He packed a bag, spent the night with his parents, then drove to Fort Worth where he rented a hotel room under an assumed name. He was found the next morning dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
