Ethel first married Joseph "Joe" Simon Mabee in Greenfield, Dade County, Missouri, on August 25, 1904. They divorced in Fresno County, California, in January 1908. She second married Eugene "Deed" Wimmer in San Diego County, California, on October 26, 1914. I am not aware of any children from either marriage.

"LONGTIME WILLITS RESIDENT FOUND DEAD AT HOME.

Final rites for Ethel Rosy Wimmer, 73, longtime local resident who was found dead at her home Saturday [September 13] on Madden Lane, will be held tomorrow (Thursday) morning at 10 o'clock at the L. P. Anker Mortuary. Willits Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, No. 314, of which Mrs. Wimmer was a longtime member will officiate. Rev. Geo. Fletcher will assist at burial services in Willits Cemetery.

Mrs. Wimmer, widow of the late Deed [Eugene D.] Wimmer, a well known early day resident and butcher of the community, apparently passed away of a heart condition, according to authorities following an autopsy. She, presumably, had been dead a few hours when found by a neighbor.

A longtime resident, Mrs. Wimmer was well known to old-time families of the community. Both she and her husband were active in civic affairs for many years and he was one of the original sponsors of Frontier Days, Willits' annual celebration. For several years Mrs. Wimmer was a clerk at the Travelers Hotel and more recently followed the same occupation at Hotel Van.

She was a native of Missouri.

One brother, Walter Dill of Greenfield, Missouri, survives."
