As the story goes my great grandfather had 5 daughters and no sons. With little money to pay a hired man the girls had to help chore on the farm. Elma was the hardest worker so great grandpa nicknamed her "Bill", as she worked just as hard as any hired man. Most people that new her never even new her name was Elma until she passed away and her obituary hit the paper.
