Jennie Gregg, 83, Succumbs
Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the
J.C. Wilson chapel here for Mrs. Jennie Gregg, 83, former resident of
this area.
Mrs. Gregg died in Indianapolis on Saturday following an extended
illness.
The rites were in charge of by Rev. Clifford R Lanman, pastor of the
Greenwood Christian Church. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.
With the exception of two years during which she lived in Michigan,
her entire life was spent here and in Marion County. She had resided
at 5627 Julian Avenue in the capital city for a number of years.
Mrs. Gregg was the widow of the late Manson Gregg, operator of an
implement business at about the site of the present home of the
Greenwood News for many years. She was born in Acton on February
21, 1859. She was a member and tireless worker in the Christian
Church for the most of her life.
Survivors include one daughter, Miss Myrtle Gregg, living at the
home in Indianapolis; two sisters, Mrs. Joe McClain, of Greenwood,
and Mrs. Jake Tolin, of Indianapolis; and one brother, Harry Maze,
of Acton.
