Funeral Services for Carey Mike "Termite" Davis, 54, of Bromide, Oklahoma will be held on Tuesday, February 15th, 2011 at 11:00 a. m. in the Clark Funeral Chapel with Brother Leon Haas officiating. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Wapanucka, Oklahoma. Mr. Davis passed away on Saturday, February 12th, at the Four Seasons Nursing Center in Durant, Oklahoma. Carey was born on October 17th, 1956 in Ada, Oklahoma to Stanford Davis and Bobbie Collins Davis. He graduated from Wapanucka High School in 1972 and was a lifelong resident of Johnston County. He worked in the oilfield as a roughneck during his working career. At the age of 25, Carey was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, a disease that destroys the nervous system. He traveled many miles over the years seeking a cure. This included a trip to old Mexico which tool several months. The trip was very expensive and was funded by his aunt and uncle, Burk & Jean Collins. The treatment failed. Carey's physical condition continued to deteriorate. He lived most of the remainder of his life in a nursing home in Tishomingo before transferring to Four Seasons in Durant. Carey was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his son, Shea Davis of Tishomingo; two grandsons, Dawson & Daylon Davis; his special friend, Barbara Hyatt of Durant; his brother, Stanley Davis & his wife Cleta of Boswell, Oklahoma; his sister, Donnie Barrett & her husband Paul of Bromide; two nieces, Ashli Wigington and Lori Pigg; three nephews, Mark & James Barrett and Brian Davis; six uncles, Marion, Jim, Durrett, Dwayne, Burk & Vernon Collins; two aunts, Johnnie Peters and Darlene Truett; also, many other relatives and a host of friends. Pallbearers for the service will be: Ricky Cobble, David Thompson, Brad Upchurch, Terry Truett, Jr., Jerry Mack Bynum and Jackie Lynn Callen.
