Services for Sylvia Abeldt, 76, of Lufkin, were held Friday, July 18, 1997 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mrs. Abeldt was born Feb. 17, 1921, in Blair, OK, and died Tuesday, July 15, 1997 in a Lufkin nursing home. Mrs. Abeldt was a homemaker and mother. She was a former resident of Haskell and had lived in Lufkin since 1984. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lufkin and the Naomi Sunday school class.
Survivors: son and daughter-in-law, Buford and Melissa Abeldt of Lufkin; grandchildren, Buford Abeldt, Jr., of Lufkin, Jeffrey Abeldt and wife Kimberly of Tyler, Monica Hailey and husband Mark of Rusk, and Meredith Abeldt of Lufkin; sister, Theresa Ridley of Mangum, OK.; and brother-in-law, Albert Abeldt of Sayre, OK.
Mrs. Abeldt was preceded in death by her husband, Vance Abeldt, on July 6, 1993.
