Marie Hauck

Marie Hauck, 93, of 644 Osborne St., Pomeroy, Ohio 45769 died Friday, Jan. 21, 2011, at Darst's Private Care Home in Pomeroy.

Born on March 11, 1917, at Spencer, W.Va., she was the daughter of Harley and Elsie Ferrell. She retired from A&P where she worked for 25 years. Mrs. Hauck was a member of the Trinity Congregational Church and belonged to the Trinity Friendly Circle.

She is survived by a daughter, Donna Carr; a granddaughter, Lesley (Marc) Michigan in Athens and two great-grandchildren, Lilly and Mason Michigan. Also surviving is a special friend of many years, Bill Matlack, now residing in California.

Other survivors are two sisters, Mildred Miller of Ashland, Ohio, and Jean Keele of Sebring, Ohio. and brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill Ferrell of Wadsworth, Ohio; Glen (Janice) Ferrell of London, Ohio; Charles Ferrell of Ashland, Ohio, Robert (Donna) Ferrell of Howard, Ohio; Dick (Karen) Ferrell of Wooster, Ohio; and a special sister-in-law, Pauline Mayer of Pomeroy, along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Hauck, her father and mother-in-law, Harry and Lillie Hauck, brothers, Jack Ferrell and Kessel Ferrell, and sisters, Elladene Watson, Eloise Smith and Florence Ferrell who died as an infant.

Funeral services will be held at Trinity Congregational Church at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 24, with the Rev. Tom Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 23.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Trinity Church, 201 E. Second St., Pomeroy, Ohio 45769, or to the Meals on Wheels, Meigs County Council on Aging, 112 E. Memorial Drive, Pomeroy, Ohio 45769.

The family extends thanks to Brenda and her special staff for the wonderful care that Marie received the past year and a half. The family would also like to thank Hospice for all of their help and care the past few months.
