IN MEMORY

On Wednesday morning, July 20, 1910 just after six o'clock, Mother Bartlett, aged nearly 78 years, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs William Mullen of Mountain View, Mo.
Last November she was stricken with paralysis and has since been a helpless invalid, and for some weeks a severe sufferer.
Cynthia Bartlett, nee Gaunt, was born near Louisville, Kentucky. When four years old her parents moved to Adams Co., Illinois. There she was married to Andrew J. Bartlett in 1858. Her husband died in 1863, leaving her with four little ones to care for. Sh never remarried, but brought up her family alone. Since her children settled in homes of their own, she has lived with them. Her children are Mr. Wm. Mullen of this city, Mrs. Emma Terrill of Giltner, Neb., Mrs Lucy Pettit of Eagle, Neb., and Andrew J. Bartlett of Takanah.. A sister Mrs. Lucinda Patten, of Guthrie,
Oklahoma, the last surviving member of the father's family, came to visit her, but arrived too late for the funeral.
Mrs. Bartlett leaves 15 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She joined the Methodist Episcopal Church 34 years ago. The funeral was held in the Methodist E. Church of this city, Rev. Carl Steven officiated.
Cynthia was married to Andrew J. Bartlett 26 Dec. 1858 in Adams County, Illinois. Andrew was first married to Cynthia's sister Emily, 5 Nov., 1854. After her death, he married Cynthia.
