-------------------------------

Joe B. Russell, a resident of Angelina County all of his life, and a farmer throughout that time, died at the age of 60 years at an early hour this morning, after a short illness, and the funeral service will be held at the Largent Cemetery Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock, conducted by Rev. J. E. Standley, Primitive Baptist Church, following which the remains will be interred in that old burial ground.

The deceased had been a resident of Angelina County all his life, making a number of appreciative friends throughout that time, and living a life of honesty and fair dealing that he left as a splendid heritage to his two daughters, Mrs. Susie Oats of Alto and Miss Lottie Mae Russell of Lufkin. He had been a member in excellent standing of the Primitive Baptist Church since early manhood, and had always lived a life that was upright and noted for square dealing with his fellowman.

In addition to his daughters, he is survived by a sister, Mrs. Viola Daniels of Lufkin; and three brothers, Tom and Jesse of Lufkin and Henry of Apple Springs. He had made his home for some time past with the family of his brother, Tom, and it was the care of these that had made his last illness of several weeks one of comfort and solace.
