Ruby Nell Pitts Clark, 74, died Friday, Oct. 1, 2010, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. An Itawamba County native, she was born July 18, 1936, to A.J. and Alma Yeager Pitts. She was raised in the Kirkville community and attended Itawamba Community College. Her working career began with Milam Manufacturing where she gave 15 years of service. She then worked 11 years for Rockwell International, later worked for Wesson Eye Clinic and then retired from McRae's Department Store. She enjoyed flowers and shopping. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. Dave Jensen and Dr. Gayle Alexander officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.

Survivors include her husband of nearly 50 years, Millard Clark of Tupelo; her son, Chuck Clark (Deanna) of Smithville; two brothers, Lawrence Pitts of Westhaven, Conn., and A.J. Pitts Jr. of Tupelo; her sister, Willadean Pitts Payne of Rossville, Ga.; two stepgrandchildren, Macy and Micah McCain.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Bonnie Ray Pitts and Lewis Pitts.

Pallbearers will be Phillip Pitts, Mike Pitts, Justin Pitts, Buzz Goodson, Will Goodson and Tony Miles.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
