Laura Bell Daugherty Minter, was born December 13, 1877, departed this life October 9, 1948. She was united in marriage to the late Ethridge Stith in 1905 and to this union was born three children, Mattie, Ernest, and Earl Stith. Mattie and Earl preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to Milton Minter in 1906 and to this union was born two children, Mabel Mae and Harold B. Minter. Besides being a devoted wife and mother to her husband and three children she still shared a motherly love for three step-children, whom she reared, Namely, Cergus Minter of Louisville; Bradie Dickerson of Cannelton, Indiana and Clyde Minter of Custer. She also reared one grandchild, Willard Stith, of Custer, and one niece, Mrs. Louise Jacobs of Louisville. She professed faith in Christ at an early age and lived a devout Christian life, serving her community as long as her health permitted. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, Milton Minter, of Custer, three children, Ernest Stith of Louisville; Mabel Flowers of Custer and Harold Minter, of Louisville; one sister, Mrs. Rachel Blissitt of Irvington; two brothers, Haynes Daugherty of Dyer and Clint Daugherty , of Irvington; nine grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, three step-children, a number of nieces and nephews, besides a host of friends and relatives. We know God sees best Mother dear to call you to your eternal rest leaving a vacant place none can fill, but your motherly love will live always in the lives of those who knew you. Funeral services were held at Custer church Monday at eleven o'clock a.m. with the pastor, Rev. F. J. Perkins officiating. Burial in the Kasey cemetery.
