Train Decapitates Man at Versailles
Louis Magoto, 63, the father of 10 children was instantly killed at 4:30 pm Wednesday when struck by an eastbound Big Four passenger train in Versailles. Investigators report that he was decapitated. Magoto an employee of the JK Long Tobacco company, Versailles, was taking a short cut across the tracks at the time of the accident. He is said to have walked directly into the path of the locomotive at a point about 50 feet from the West North street grade crossing. The accident victim who lives on West Water street Versailles, leaves his wife Emma; 5 sons Hubert, Magloire, and Leander, all of Versailles; Arthur of Versailles, and Paul, who serves with U S armed forces in Australia; 5 daughters Mrs. Alma Dapore, Versailles, Ruth Magoto of Frenchtown, Veronica, Mrs. Al Versailles Magoto, Los Angeles, Mrs. Cecilia Buxton, Lima, and Mrs. Marybelle Bruns, Dayton; 17 grandchildren; one brother Edward, of Greenville and a sister, Mrs. Raymond Barga, Versailles. Graveside services will be held at 4 pm today at Holy Family cemetery, Frenchtown. The body is at Miller Brothers funeral home, Versailles.
