widowed housewife Mrs Alexander H Birchfield. Died of senility probably due to influenza. She was the daughter of William Henry Isgrigg and Violetta Silvers. She is on the 1920 census as a widow and the 1910 census with her husband.

In 1900 they were living in Barstow, Ward County, Texas. He was a cattle rancher. Also living with them in Barstow was her son John Miller Mitchell by her first husband and his children.

In the late 1880's and early 1890's cattle brands and land titles were registered in Winkler County in both Mitchell and Birchfield names. Winkler and Ward Counties were created in 1887 from Tom Green County.
