RITES MONDAY

Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 4:30 p.m. for John H. Malicoat, 26, who died Friday at the veterans administration hospital in Big Spring, Tex. The Rev. Wilson L. Akins will conduct the rites in the West Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be in the Carlsbad Cemetery.

Born in Sterling, Okla., Malicoat entered the Army from Artesia in 1947, returning there on being discharged. He was admitted to the veterans hospital in Albuquerque for treatment of illness last year and on his discharge last year returned to Carlsbad to make his home with his mother and sister at 211 Northeast First Street. He was hospitalized in Big Spring in February.

Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Lurena Malicoat of Carlsbad; a daughter, Rosie Mary Malicoat of Artesia; two sisters, Theata Malicoat of Carlsbad and Mrs. W.R. Buce of Seaside, Calif.; and five brothers, George of Hobbs, Frank of Andrews, Tex., Hugh of Alex, Okla., Herman of Kansas City, Kas., and Burl of Chickasha, Okla.
