Obituary of Charles F. Lembright
January 27, 1937 ~ February 22, 2011

Charles F. Lembright, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, February 22, 2011. He was born on January 27, 1937 in Bucks Township, OH and grew up on a dairy farm near Baltic.

He graduated from Baltic High School in 1955 and from Otterbein College in 1959 with a major in Speech/Drama. He earned his M.F.A. in Theatre Arts from West Virginia University in 1969. His teaching span of 38 years included Put-In-Bay, Wadsworth and Belle Center School Districts in Ohio. He taught one year each at West Liberty State College in West Virginia and Gulf Park College of Women in Mississippi respectively. His teaching on the Mississippi Gulf Coast included St. John, Gulfport, Long Beach and Bay St. Louis High Schools.

He was actively involved in his profession serving several terms as president of the Mississippi Theatre Association, State representative for International Thespian Society and was Chairman of the Secondary Division of the South Eastern Theatre Conference for twelve years.

He served in the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion Post #44. He grew up at St. Peters United Church of Christ at Fiat, was a 35 year member of Long Beach Presbyterian Church USA in Mississippi where he sang in the choir and served as a deacon and elder. He most recently was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canton where he sang in the choir, served on the property committee and assisted the Alter Guild.

Chuck is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sharon Bollinger Lembright; a sister, Marlene (Dave) Stillson of Sugarcreek and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles F. Sr. and Marjorie Quillin Lembright and an infant sister, Holly Ann Lembright. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in Zion Lutheran Church of Canton with the Rev. Dr. Kenneth D. Scheck II officiating.

Calling hours will be Friday from 6-8 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home Canton Chapel and one hour prior to the service from 9-10 a.m. on Saturday in the church. Additional visitation will be Saturday from 2-2:30 p.m. in St. Peters United Church of Christ at Fiat, 10639 Oak Valley Rd. SW Baltic, OH 43804 with a committal service and burial immediately following in Fiat Cemetery.
