August Sauer, 89, died this morning, 19 Sep 1963, in a Weatherford nursing home. Born 5 Jul 1874 to Heinrich 'Henry' and Carolina 'Lena' Sauer.
Funeral services for August C. Sauer will be held at 10 am Saturday in the Custer City Methodist Church with Rev. Nelson Galloway, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery. Sauer, 89, died this morning in a Weatherford Nursing home.
A native 0f Ironton, Ohio, he came to Custer County in 1894 and later homesteaded in Dewey County. He returned to Custer County and had lived most of his life southeast of Custer City.
Sauer was a member of the Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife, Herma; two sons, Willliam Sauer, Custer City; Lowell Sauer, Weatherford; a brother, George Sauer, Custer City; a sister, Mrs. Nellie Wilson, Minneapolis, Minn.; a granddaughter and two great-grandchildren.
