Mrs. Martine Baand, nee Binole, was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, on February 14, 1853, and died at Beaver Crossing, Nebraska, August 10, 1907, aged 54 years, 5 months and 24 days.
She was married to Mr. Baand 25 years ago. He preceded her in death six years ago. There were born to them seven children, five girls and two boys, of which two girls preceded the mother in death; three girls and two boys remain to mourn her departure from this life.
Mrs. Baand was an active Christian woman and mother for many years. She was a member of the U.B. church and on coming to Beaver Crossing she identified herself with the United Evangelical church, of which she was a faithful member til death. During all her intense suffering and pain caused by Bright's disease she manifested a Christ-like spirit.
She was esteemed by all who knew her and is sadly missed in her home and among her friends.
Funeral services were held at the home Monday morning at 9:30, conducted by Rev. Nickel, of the United Evangelical church, and interment took place in the cemetery at Utica. The bereaved ones have the sympathy of their many friends in this community.
