He was born April 7, 1934 in Butte, Montana to Ada and George France Mendelkow. He grew up and lived most of his life in Utah. He attended Ogden City Schools and served a short time in the Navy Guard.
He was self-employed for many years and was an artist and inventor. Hugh had a deep passion for the law and devoted many hours helping others with their matters concerning the law.
Hugh leaves his children, Sheila Mendelkow (Craig) Jensen; Kurt (Mendelkow) (Deb) Key; Vance (Dawn) Mendelkow; Debbie Mendelkow Bowers, and Shaun Mendelkow; thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bonnie Rasmussen and LaVoy Welch; numerous nieces and nephews; and many great and loyal friends. His parents preceded him in death.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 25, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Rasmussen Mortuary (96 North 100 West) in Mount Pleasant, UT. Friends may call on Friday from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the mortuary prior to the services.
Interment will be in the Fairview City Cemetery.
