Calvin Elmer Jones, 92, passed away peacefully in St. George, UT February 17, 2011.
He was born July 28, 1918 in Byron, Wyoming to Oscar Seth and Estella Johnson Jones.
He married Shirley Lantrip who preceded him in death.

He married Geraldean Cantwell April 5, 1973 in the Logan LDS Temple.

In 1989 he moved his family to St. George where he and his cousin Charles Jones started a two man band. Cal on tenor saxophone and Charles on keyboard. Calvin was a professional musician for 75 years. He played in the Carole Weyland Band at Big Horn Basin, Wyo., while serving in the U.S. Army during WWII and in Logan, UT.

He is survived by his wife, Geraldean, two daughters; Beverly (Ed) Cozzens, Springville, UT and Kim (Derek) Naegle of St. George. Four sons were sealed to him at the time of his marriage, Michael, Brian, Stephen and Jeffery Proffit. He has 19 dear grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, one sister Elda (Louis) Moore, Cody, WY.

Cal was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints and dedicated his life to helping others.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday February 24, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Ft Pierce LDS Chapel, 750 Ft. Pierce. A Viewing will be Wednesday from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M. and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be at Tonaquint Cemetery.

The family extends special thanks to Lucia and Gary Cooper at the Wild Swan care facility for the last eight months of loving, dedicated and professional care and Ann and Kiley of Zion's Way Hospice.
