Akron-Mentone News: Mrs. Walter (Mabel Marie) GAGNON, 63, R. 1, No. Manchester, died on Thursday at the Wabash county hospital after an illness of one and one-half years. The daughter of David and Mary STURKEY ECKMAN, she was born at Wabash on Sept. 6, 1905. She was a member of the E.U.B. church. Surviving are her husband, whom she married Apr. 21, 1924; a son, Robert GAGNON, Silver Lake; a daughter, Miss Marilyn GAGNON of Fort Wayne; two grandchildren; a brother, Fred ECKMAN, Warsaw; and a sister, Mrs. Harry SHAFFER, Akron. A son, one daughter, two half-brothers and a half-sister preceded in death. Funeral services were held Sunday with burial in the Silver Creek cemetery.
