Joe A. Elkins, 78, died peacefully at home on Monday, Feb. 21, 2011. Funeral: 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Laurel Land Memorial Chapel in Fort Worth. Burial: Laurel Land Memorial Park of Fort Worth. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Laurel Land Funeral Home. Joe served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He and Virginia were married Aug. 26, 1977. He retired from Texas Steel. He loved the outdoors. Survivors: His wife, Virginia P. Elkins; children, Chryl Claunch, Lynda Sue Sinclair, Ruby Jo Ray, Deborah Mowles, Johnie Rogers, David H. Collier, Cheryle Ann Elkins and Joe David Elkins; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
