Jennie Blair
Jennie Blair, daughter of Joshua and Sarah Ann Woods Mallow, was born in Crawford County, Missouri on May 23, 1875 and departed this life after a lingering illness at the Rolla Nursing Home in Rolla, Missouri on February 25, 1965 having lived to the advanced age of 89 years, 9 months and 4 days. She was united in marriage to Charles M. Blair at Leasburg, Missouri on October 16, 1898 and to this union three sons were born. Mr. Blair passed away on February 27, 1947 and as long as health permitted, she stayed in her home in Leasburg, Missouri, but the last few months of her life has been spent in nursing homes where every care was given her. Those who survive her departure are three sons, Claude Blair of St. Louis, Missouri, Walter Blair of Pleasant Hope, Missouri and Frank Blair of Florissant, Missouri. Surviving also are three daughters-in-law, four grandchildren, four great grandchildren, two brothers, Benjamin Mallow of Cuba, Missouri and Albert Mallow of Gainesville, Missouri. Also surviving are the nieces, nephews, other relatives and her many friends. Mrs. Blair was a lifelong member of the Liberty Methodist Church and by the faith she had in God and the belief in the teaching of her church, her eternal happiness, we feel, is safe and secure. Mrs. Blair was in state at the Hoener Funeral Home in Bourbon, Missouri where services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 27, 1965, Rev. Clarence B. Kell officiating. Her favorite hymn was sung by Mrs. Velma Knight who was accompanied by Beverly McKney. Interment was in the Lea Cemetery with Fred Lea, James Edwards, Harvey Harmon, Waldo Kitchen, Clarence Willis and Champ Avery serving as pallbearers.
